Do all AI-generated Amazon images need this tag?
No. Amazon’s product-image guidance focuses on images containing a photorealistic person generated entirely by AI and not based on a real person. An AI-assisted background or ordinary retouching alone is not the same disclosure case.
What exact metadata does Amazon request?
Add the exact keyword contains-synthetic-performer to the XMP Dublin Core subject field, dc:subject. Keep the spelling and hyphenation unchanged.
Is this a visible watermark or label?
No. The keyword is embedded as XMP metadata inside the image file. It does not add visible text, a badge, or a watermark to the product image.
When should I add the disclosure metadata?
Add it after cropping, retouching, resizing, compression, and format conversion. Later image processing can remove metadata, so upload the exact verified file you download from the tagger.
Does the tool upload or recompress my image?

Does it work with JPG and PNG files?
Yes. The tagger can inspect, write, and verify the XMP disclosure keyword in JPG and PNG files. Always verify the final exported file after any later editing step.
Is the A+ Content disclosure checkbox the same thing?
It is a separate upload-workflow disclosure. Amazon’s guidance describes AI-related checkboxes for A+ Content, while product image files may also need the requested embedded metadata. Follow the instructions shown in the upload flow you use.
What should I do with older listing images?
Amazon guidance and enforcement can change. Review older affected images when you edit or replace listing content, keep a record of the source file, and verify the latest instructions in Seller Central before upload.
